EU Legislation allows for the temporary suspension of customs duties on the import of raw materials and components used in manufacturing where they, or suitable alternatives, are not available within the EU.
There are two application windows for businesses to apply for Tariff Suspensions and Quotas - July and December of each year.
The current application window opened on 01 July and will close on 31 July. If you are a company importing raw materials and/or components that will be further processed in the EU which cannot be obtained in the EU, or that there are not sufficient quantities of in the EU, this is an opportunity for you to reduce your cost base through the reduction/elimination of duty.
